Winter Wonderland February 2011

For those of us who have received snow already this month, how much have you received and whereabout do you live?

Here in Dallas, specifically the northern suburbs, we received about 4-5" overnight and possibly still counting; possibly an additional inch by noon today.

It's definitely been an interesting week since my wife and kids have only gone to school one day (Monday). I went in to the office yesterday for the first time this week but could have stayed home due to how much ice is still on the roads. Today, I'm working from home. Hopefully, no power outages will take place like they did Wednesday. But I love my Texas weather!

I just posted this a few minutes ago:

I reside in Norwich CT, though the pics are in Marlborough CT.

At home we are buried, haven't seen trash service in 3+ weeks.

4-5" in DFW is amazing. I used to live in Hurst and never saw a flake in the year I was there

Yeah, it's amazing here for sure! As of right now, we're upwards of about 6" since we've gotten another band of snow since I first posted this morning. On the other hand, I shall never forget the 12.5" snow we got nearly a year ago this same time!

Also, John, I saw Hoovie's thread about record snowfall 2/1. I guess you can consider this thread an untentional duplicate. (My bad!) Maybe Admin would consider grandfathering in this thread with Hoovie's and close/delete this one.

Dagwood, I am in Dallas too. Did you see the news last night? those power outages are gonna cost us much $$$

evidently the power company charged their max per KW. and next months bills will reflect that price hike. unless you are under a long term contract with a power company.

Yes, I did, and I'm hoping we're accidentally overlooked. I'm sure everyone's wishing the same thing. I can't even imagine what our bill's gonna be, not to mention our gas bill...

I guess having fun (talking about the snow) costs no matter what the circumstances are, even when the power goes out...
