Re: Bro Marlor
He's been around a long time. I heard him preach in Jackson, MS in the mid 70's.

Re: Bro Marlor
Bro. Marler had his little boy with him, about five years old. Bro Craft had them on the platform and found out that the boy liked CB radios. He asked him to say something in CB radio talk. The boy said, "Keep your rig outta the ditches and the ladies outta your britches."
The whole service was pretty much destroyed at that time. Lol! That's my one memory of OC Marler.

That is hilarious!! OC pastored a church in East Dallas when I was young, heard him preach at fellowship meetings and also at my dad's church. He was considered a very good preacher. I liked him, but can't remember his sermons.

Brother,
Yes, Bro. & Sis. O.C. Marler preached for our late father in the late 50's or early 60's. If I remember correctly Sis. Marler was expecting their first child and maybe had the baby during the time of the revival. I vaguely remember Dad either sending or taking an offering at the church for the Marler's to help during that time. We were still in the storefront building at that time so it would have been between 1958-1964. We moved to the Christian Church building in 1964. Dad opened the doors to the storefront just off the main street downtown W....., Nov. 12, 1958.
Brother, you may have been too young to remember his sermons.

I remember them preaching at the store front, but not much about it. He also preached one Sunday night at the First Street building in about 1969, Darlene and I were there, but just dating.

Re: Bro Marlor
I believe Bro Marlor is 78. I think that is what he said during our revival.

Re: Bro Marlor
I've heard him preach often. He has a style unlike any other. One of my favorite O.C. Marler quotes, of many, was made to a group of preachers. He said, "You can fast until your clothes fall off, but if you ain't friendly your church won't grow!"
That's truth!
