Of course in THAT situation you would be outraged. But what about just hanging out with the Free Masons and acting as if you agree in order to learn about it and then leaving.

This is what just finished happening with the Pentecostals, and not even for very long.

These folks have way too many facts wrong to present an honest portrayal of what the project was because they get all their info from that lady's dumb articles which don't get the facts right either.

That's encouraging others to do the project. The prankish part is merely to get through the boring services.

You get the apostasy thing totally wrong. The only reason to have an apostasy is if you've been there so long you need a legitimate excuse to get out. In my case I left early so no need for apostasy.

Nothing was ever said about shock value.

It was some sort of game to him. He encouraged others to go to Pentecostal churches, fake tongues and even have FUN doing it by cussing in tongues

The small bit of prankishness is just personal entertainment to make a point to those reading.

Pentecostals can't tell the difference between "real" and "fake" tongues even if curse words are inserted throughout.

Well, anthropologists do this sort of thing all the time. When they enter another culture or even a sub-culture for the purpose of observation they don't spend their time arguing, they just integrate. Like it or not it is what it is and no one gets hurt.

And the speaking in tongues with curse words mixed in was just to make a point to people like you that there is no difference between real and fake tongues since Pentecostals themselves can't tell the difference.

Furthermore to clarify misconceptions, I do not self-identify as an atheist. Since I have no where discussed my opinion on the matter your assumption that I am one is unfounded.

I just don't believe the Bible is the word of a god, and I don't find that a god has revealed anything perfectly through any religion so far. Any of those views could be reversed in light of evidence and other than that what's true is up for grabs.

Again, that you are all offended is irrational. The depiction of what the project was was misrepresented by the people who wrote about it to blow it up.

I hope this thread dies soon so I can stop participating in this forum. When you guys realize that everything is fine, no seeds of doubt have been sown to members of the church the project was being done at, and the articles written by people about the project didn't accurately represent it, then I hope you have a good life.

Keep responding on this thread and I'll keep attempting to divest you of your misinformation.

First of all several of us have expressed disagreement with you doing it to ANYONE.

Second of all, WE would not do that. Whether we had less of a problem with you doing it to a different group or not, the fact remains we would not pretend to be baptist for several months just to play games
