That reminded me of something similar when I was a little kid.
There used to be an older farmer who would plow up small gardens
for folks around the area with his horse and an old time plow that he
stood behind as the horse pulled. He had an old wagon that he traveled
back and forth in, that the horse also pulled. When some of us kids would
see him coming we would run to him and ask to ride with him up the
road a little while. He would always stop and give us a ride. He
was such a sweet old man that I will never forget.
You're right, that would not play out very well in this day and time.
So sad too.
