Anyone Follow Russ Taff-- Music or Life?

Russ was doing solo concerts in Houston a few years ago in churches.

I really enjoyed his singing with the Imperials in the late 70's and 80's (is this the right time?) and I was thrilled when my son was really impressed with Russ's singing at Church of Champions in north Houston a couple years ago. Every now and then I'll hear my son listening to Russ and it still gives me a thrill. Great singer!

I've read that Russ had some significant challenges in life. I believe he had a difficult home life as a child but found a source of great admiration in Pastor Franklin Jones of Humble (northeast Houston), Texas.

Whatever his past, Russ has an awesome voice and an incredible gift in touching people through his singing ministry. His solo record, "Walls of Glass" in the 80's or 90's had some truly great meaning in many of the songs, complimented by Russ's almost unequaled singing style.
