Re: Take off your shoes...

I take my shoes off at cell group because my feet feel like they are going to explode.

Re: Take off your shoes...

I’ve been working in the Everglades. I’m cutting trees felling them in a river. Then I walk in cut’em up, haul’em out. Well, just the other day I got swamp water in my boot. I got to the river bank and dumped out the water. At the end of the day I took my boots off and walked inside. Everyone immediately walked outside.

Yep.

Socks too.

So far He has never done that.

Im noticing a disturbing trend of fetishizing OT happenings and using it as a guidebook for NT saints.

When I read this, this is the scripture that came to mind but in answer to the original post...isnt that kind of behavior the same as worshipping something that God used one time only.?..I mean I dont ever see it on scripture other than the original account with Moses and the burning bush

Wouldnt this be a bit like taken the brazen serpents and making them into idols something that God legitimately used?

Heres my main question.

Do we have the authority to take something God used as a one time occurence and make a tradition or practice of it?

So Moses who did NOT have the Spirit of God was told to do a certain thing.

He was told to take off his shoes because he was standing on holy ground.

What made the ground holy?

It was the literal manifestation of an invisible God who was yet to enter into man for communion.

It seems as of God was wanting to break down anything that would separate Him from Moses.

Moses could not have touched the burning bush without being consumed but I beleive that God let him get as close as he could without actual contact....and that was just Moses standing barefoot...

What does that mean for a Spirit filled Christian?

For a Spirit filled Christian, shoes do not separate us from God...but sin does.

With Moses...removing his shoes could be seen as a type of removal of a barrier...such as the Temple veil...God was saying, "Anything that separates you from contact with me I want it out of the way."

So now we are Spirit filled and in our quest to be whispy and "spiritual" we get up and act out a high point from someones sermon

Why?

Is it spiritual virtue signalling or is it a pervasive ignorance about what exactly and WHO exactly we possess?
I think whatever we do if it's as unto the Lord to honor Him and someone else in the Word did it why not? It's easy to be a pharisee, but who among you has no sin? Go ahead and pick up a rock and sling it at me, I hope the Lord will forgive you for you know not whatever you're of. By the way I don't take off my shoes, but I would when the shekinah puts the house on our faces where Jesus fixes us. Shalom.

Shekinah? Shekhinah? A feminine talmudic word.

Theres alot of "I think" going on where there should be scripture examined in context.

Lotta "I think" got a lot of people into some mess.

Remember that guy that promised God that if God gave him victory he'd sacrifice the first thing that came out to meet him?

Yeah...his daughter.

That was "Unto the Lord" in his mind as well...

We dont get to do whatever we want to "unto the Lord" just because someone else did it.

In doing such you act amiss not knowing what you do or why and in doing so can be led into idolotry and witchcraft.

We are commanded not to worship God as other religions worship their gods so you can be real sure Im gonna test every spirit to see whether it be of God.

You speak to me as though I am an enemy but you would do well not to heed the spirit of confusion that would turn you against those that wish no harm upon you and that are not serving evil.

Context is important my friend.

We must not just imitate what has happened but we must examine why.

Btw....that wasnt a rock...that was some truth. Just because words hurt doesnt mean that they are meant for your destruction.

Pharisee?

Really?

You wanna know my sins Ive been forgiven of and what God has set me free from?

How dare you blindly accuse someone of sin and evil sight unseen because you get some pushback and get your feelings hurt.

The Lord open your eyes truth and unstop your ears of ignorance and stop your lying tongue in Jesus name because you speak as an accuser of the brethren.
