Smile Big Larry has a voice!

Today at PEACE CHURCH we had an awesome service. The worsjip started off about the blood of Christ and then we had a special song sung by our very own Big Larry. He sung the old song, "The Blood" [will never lose it's power]. He was accompanied by former missionary to Brazil Debbie Baker. It was icing on the cake. The cake was the word of God as preached by former missionary Tim Baker [currently Pastor in Florida] from the book of Exodus where the blood was sprinkled on all the people. I never tire of hearing it sung, taught, or preached about the blood of Christ being applied to our hearts and lives by Faith in the sacrifice of God's son Jesus Christ on Calvary's cross.

Kudos Bro. Big Larry...awesome voice!

Blessings, Rhoni

P.S. Are there others who sing in church on this forum?

It has been about 15 yrs since I heard Big Larry sing. Wish I could have been at Peace Church!
Yes I have been singing at our church all my life and I still love the old songs!

I am in a catch 22 myself. I appreciate the older songs and know just about all of them but I enjoy the newer contemporary ones. I was just waiting for our church to sing the song:

When I think of his goodness and what he's done for me...
When I think of his goodness and how he set me free...
I could dance, dance, dance, all night, all night.

I was ready to dance a jig. But the song sang was:

When I think of the goodness of Jesus,
And all he has done for me...
My soul cries out Hallelujah,
Praise God for saving me.

Mind you, I love the words of the song but I prefer something I can tap my foot, clap my hands, and dance a jig to. I am aware that these type of songs all have their place in different services but I like the younger, newer, and more lively tunes. Just my preference.

Blessings, Rhoni

I would love to hear Big Larry sing.
I don't sing myself, I just play music.I used to try to sing at church ,but my wife said I sounded awful.
So I just play music and not sing.

Big Lad, sang "Welcome Home My Son" at our brother John's funeral last Thursday, it was the best I have ever heard him sing. That is saying lot since a few months ago, the doctors told him that his blood count, " is incompatible with life", he did not have the strength to sing. God is truly great.

John's funeral a wonderful tribute to his life, and greatly honored God in his life.

Elder C A Nelson used to say he could only play his nose (the radio only gave static) and he could both pick it and blow it!

As for the sAnging... I have been known to sAng a little bit in church. why, I have even been the featured guest at a sAngin' or two. Not so much in recent history seein' as my pastor believes solos are of the evil one and if you can't sing in a trio or moreo you don't sing at allo!

I hope that was TIC!

Otherwise, he might think David was of the evil one.
