Many dark skinned South Americans, Praxeas ... are a mix of indigenous blood, Spanish and/or African ... those whose coast are w/ the Caribbean especially have African roots ... Colombia, Venezuela ... even Peru.
Furthermore, there are many dark skinned Spaniards. Don't forget the Moors, from N. Africa populated the Iberian peninsula.
Hispanics from the Caribbean are probably the most mixed of the latinos ...
My grandfather from PR had roots from the Canary Islands, my grandma from PR was black ... and my mother's mom, from DR had French blood ... due to the brief transfer of Hispaniola ... to French hands.
