Evangelist B. I respect your opinion but I live in a pagan world in Brazil...I know the depths and darkness of rituals and endless feasts.
I am not saying celebrating Christmas did not come from pagan roots BUT I am saying I am glad the KING of the Jews was born. I would say he was born maybe in oct...that is what I came to the conclusion many years ago...however I was not there...but I am glad He came.
personally, I believe He was born during the feast of the tabernacles...but that also is debatable.

Let's not confuse what is being spoken of here. I would like to remind those of you that are posting that I'm not saying nor have I ever said that Jesus wasn't born or that His birth was not special. Mary was to be called blessed by ALL GENERATIONS, but we do not take that to the extreme. Now that I said all this I must continue to remind you all that it's not Jesus' birth that is in question, but a pagan Roman Catholic holiday that was never practiced by any first, second or third century Christians.
My you all have fun in your celebrations of Dec 25th I'm just saying that the holiday is man's tradition and not God's.

I don't think there is a debate there, at least not from me. I just don't think there is anything wrong with celebrating it.
By the way, are you getting each other anything? Would you like one of the VERY rare Reckart Fisher Price cartridges, Vol VIII?

Is that Fisher Price toy hard to find? What's it really called, I mean the real one not the one that has the Cohen.

It's just called the Fisher Price movie viewer.
I tells ya, they may show a baby on the box, but this was THE toy to have if you grew up in the 70's!
This was (I think) the last official version to sell. Obviously marketed at a slightly older crowd.

Luk 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luk 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luk 2:12 And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
Luk 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Luk 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

The angels rejoiced and praised God his birth, so I see no reason why I should not.

In fact, The angel that spoke to the shepherds stated that the birth of Christ was "good tidings of GREAT JOY". A time of rejoicing and merry making. I will rejoice on the day that our world has set aside to commemorate his birth whether it is the actual day or not, because Messiah has come!!

Sooooo, were the angels putting up Christmas trees and buying each other presents, along with burning a yule log, kissing each other under the mistletoe, etc., etc.? The angels decided to rejoice using pagan methods of worshipping false gods?
