Greetings to you in Jesus name.
Among the many things I have to be thankful for, one is that you are my friend. In the world we live in today it is so hard to find a REAL friend. Lots of people say to me, Brother Alvear call us when you have
a need but it is just a ritual but I know you are different. I feel that in my heart. Well today I felt led to write and tell several of you a real personal need. Not that I expect you to come up with this money but I am asking you to help me pray about this need and if you feel led to mention it to others so that the word can get around.
Our family does not have a home to live in. Many people know that I rent an apartment and with each passing day things are more difficult. A really tiny but convenient house has come up for sale adjoining my church property at the back. They are asking 18 thousand dollars for it. The house is very simple but the location is very good and slowly Michelle and I can get it livable...and that´s really all we care
about any way as earth life is just a temporal thing anyway....Just being close to the church and not having to pay rent would take such a load off me. I need half of the money now and the other half I will have 90 days when we close the deal. I am asking you as my friend to see if there is anything you can do to help.
My heartbeat is the Brazilian people. God said, " Go and make disciples and we have obeyed. We are a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am willing to go anywhere, and do anything He commands, give until I
drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes. However, I can´t do it alone. I need your help.. I was called to Go, but I need those around me who were called to pray, send, mobilize and encourage. I need my elders in my life. I´ve heard the call and said "Here am I, Send Me." However, I can´t do it alone and neither can you. We need each other for we are part of the same war, the same kingdom. It takes
a team of God´s people; all parts of the body each doing what God has called them to.
I thought of the word Selah: the dictionary says it means, "A word used in the Psalms to denote a rest, or a pause for meditation." This is what a little house would mean to my family...somewhere after our long days we could have such a place. After much prayer and trusting in the Lord, we have prayerfully decided to write those we consider our friends and ask for help. Like mother told me, "how can the people know your dreams, your burdens if you don´t tell them?"If you would like to give to this ministry or help me buy the little house I would be so grateful.
We are thankful to God for each one of you for encouraging us through prayers, emails and phone calls. You will never know what it means be so far from America and have someone just to slip a little note and say, I am praying for you.
Some of the things we have done this month include visiting two of our churches in the city of Franca and rejoicing with them about the new work in the city of Tirapua.
We sent out another young couple as missionaries to the city of Sao Carlos and they have already won 5 families to the Lord. We are trying to help them monthly if you could help in any way this worthy couple please earmark it for new missionary couple.
We visited the 2 churches in Jales and rejoiced at the new remodeling job they did which turned out so beautiful.
We did a lot more work in the new church in Sao Luiz, putting in a tile floor, glass in the windows and build a fence around it.
Pastor Milton our missionary in Ceara baptized 7 new souls. We had to dig a new well for the church as the old well dried up. We need to finish up the church in Buritialto. We are having 30-40 people there every service UNDER a tree. To finish the church there we will need around 1000 dollars. Please pray about this need.
In Casa Branca we are finishing the pastoral house.
We baptized people this month in the Itobi church. We also visited Vargen Grande do Sul, Sao Jose do Rio Pardo church and several works in that area.
We are finishing building the retaining wall that the city of Valinhos is making us build in the back of our church there.
Classes at the Bible school have started so we have been busy. We have 8 students that are in need of sponsors at 75 dollars per month.
We had a wonderful family camp with around 800 people present. We baptized 16 at the camp and 10 received the Holy Ghost.
We just had Pastor Ferrell and family visiting us for 8 days and 15 more received the Holy Ghost and baptized one more.
Thank you all for helping us to change the destiny of thousands of souls all over Brazil.
