Is Acts.2:38 The One Plan Of Salvation ?
I'm not starting this thread for contention, and I ask posters who participate in this thread not to personally insult those whom you differ with.
But you do honestly feel Acts.2:38 is the one plan of salvation yes or no, why or why not ?
Doesn't seem that if the NT. church began at Pentecost,Peter's sermon on the death, burial, resurrection of Christ, and His altar call would bear alot of weigh on the question what do I need to do to be saved ?

Re: Is Acts.2:38 The One Plan Of Salvation ?
My thinking is that as long as we are in the same dispensation as the Apostles were the way of salvation would be the same.

That's the problem you believe in dispensational theology. One of the reasons why dispensational theology survives in part is due to the simple issues of trying to bring contrasting theologies togethor. Jesus and Paul for example!

Sure it is the plan. Why wouldn't it be! Paul clearly teaches baptism is our uniting with the blood/death/sacrifice of Christ which would be the atonement for remission of sins. We see the teaching clearly in Repent/turn and be baptized/united/converted..... Also repentance and baptism at conversion is one motion. One turns to something and that is to the death/blood/sacrifice of Christ which is seen in baptism.

Yes, that is correct Dan and the only way to be united is in baptism through faith in the working of God.

Re: Is Acts.2:38 The One Plan Of Salvation ?
I see the "plan of salvation" being rooted in Christ's mission and purpose, his sacrifice for mankind on Calvary. That was God's plan to save mankind. So the "gospel" (good news) is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ; and our salvation is rooted in this reality.
Now....I view Acts 2:38 as the complete "application" of the Gospel, God's saving plan. Since God planned to save mankind through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, we apply that death, burial, and resurrection by repenting (death), being water baptized (burial"), and receiving the Holy Ghost (Resurrection). In doing so we "put on Christ".
Summary:
-God's plan is the Gospel, Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
-We apply this Gospel to our lives through repentance, water baptism, and Holy Ghost baptism.

Re: Is Acts.2:38 The One Plan Of Salvation ?
Only one time is it recorded that someone asked an apostle, "What must I do to be saved?" The person asking was a jailer in the Roman Colony of Philippi. The time was about 50 AD. The Apostle who was asked the question was Paul. The Apostle Paul gave the Apostolic (or New Testament) answer when he said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." This is found in the 16th chapter of the Book of Acts. Evidently the man did get saved and some of his family members also because we read that they were baptized.

13. We are buried with Him in baptism. Ro 6:4
14. Unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Rev 1:5
15. On the feast day of Pentecost, AD 33 the Holy Ghost was poured out. This was the beginning of the Apostolic Church. One hundred and twenty people were in the upper room in one mind and in one accord, and they were all filled with the Spirit of God. The Apostles came down praising and glorifying God. Peter started preaching (with the eleven behind him) and men were pricked in their hearts. They asked, "Men and bretheren, what shall we do?
(see acts 2:1-37)
16. Then Peter said unto them, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38
17. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized, and the same day there were added unto them abou t three thousand souls. Acts 2:41
18. When they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God and the NAME of Jesus Christ, they baptized both men and women. Acts 8:12
19. Baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. 1 Peter 3:21
20. Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same scripture and preached unto him JESUS. Acts 8:35
21. And they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. Acts 8:38
22. He commanded them to be baptized in the NAME of the LORD. Acts 10:40
23. When they heard this they were baptized in the NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.
Acts 19:5
24. Buried with him in baptism wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God who hath raised him from the dead. Col 2:12
25. Know ye not that so many of us as were baptized in to Jesus Christ were baptized into His death. Ro 6:3
26. But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the NAME of the LORD JESUS. 1 Cor 6:11
27. Why tarrieth thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins calling on the NAME of the Lord. Acts 22:16
28. Baptism by immersion in water signifies the washing away of sin by His blood.
29. The blood of Jesus covers, cleanses, washes away, and makes the vilest sinner white as snow.
We Ask the following questions.
(Answers can be found in KJV Bible)
30. Who took on the form of man to save sinners? Jn 1:14, 1 Tim 1:15
31. Who was crucified and shed his blood to cover sin? Ro 5/9, 1 Cor 15:3, 1 Jn 1/7
32. Who alone can forgive and remit sin? Mt 12:31, Jn 20:23, Mk 2:7, Lu 7:48
If you believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, then tell me who should be baptized in the name of Jesus?
33. The Jews. Acts 2:36-39
34. The Samaritans. Acts 8:14-16
35. The Ethiopians. Acts 8:35-39
36. The Gentiles. Acts 10:45-48
37. All believers who had been previously baptized with other baptisms. Acts 19:1-5
38. You, your children, and all that are afar off. Acts 2:39
39. Whatsoever ye do in word or in deed DO ALL in the NAME of the Lord JESUS.
Col 3:17
40. There is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Everybody who wants to serve God needs to be baptized in name of Jesus. This is the only way to be baptized. If you have been baptized in any other way please find a preacher who will baptize you the correct way that God commands... In the name of Jesus.
Matt 28:19 requires baptism in the Name. (not titles)
Father is not the name. Son is not the name. Holy Ghost is not the name.
Jesus is the name of the Father and of Son and of the Holy Ghost.
According to the Word of God Jesus came in his father's name
and sent us the Holy Spirit in His name.
The only way to be baptized in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost is JESUS NAME.
Remember baptism will not help you if you do not repent. Ask God to forgive your sins and then get baptized in the name of Jesus. God has promised to fill all who will do this with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost which is the Spirit of God will continue to guide you into all truth.

Re: Is Acts.2:38 The One Plan Of Salvation ?
Yes because Jesus says a man must be born again of the water and of the Spirit. 1peter 3:21 explicitly declares water to be baptism. "by the resurrection in 1 peter 3:21 is like romans where is says if the same spirit that dwelt in christ dwell in you that same spirit shall quicken your mortal bodies. The Spirit A.K.A. Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Christ told peter what he bound on earth would be bound in heaven and what he loosed on earth would be loosed in heaven. Acts 2:38 is forever bound in heaven and in contrast rituals of the law are forever loosed through grace.
