I sat once with a dying man as he screamed he felt the flames of hell...whatever he felt I do not know but I do know he was a lost sinner that had rejected Jesus time and time again...
I sat with a dying saint as he saw the angels and told me they had come after him...I did not see them but that was his last words...

The hope of the resurrection, was the last words that encouraged the martyers of the early church.

I cannot believe all are saved...however I wish and hope that is true. I don´t mind being wrong on that...

Lots of christians have died horrible painful deaths at the hands of cruel godless men and women...it was the hope of a better life...the meeting of those saints that had departed that helped them so noblely die.

This seems contradictory.

People at death are going straight to Heaven to be with Christ.

Yet THE HOPE OF RESURRECTION is our encouragement?

Why is that a hope? If we are enjoying eternal life in Heaven at our death what does a resurrection give us?

and repeated what is said about the resurrection...

I do not believe in soul sleep if that is what you want to know...

I believe many times the departing know something...how can I say how much or what they know I have never had that experience.

I was holding the hand of a pastor´s wife that was dying and in her last moments she awoke, smiled...and...was gone...what she saw I do not know...

My mother was an old time Pentecostal and lived for God for over 55 years.
I heard her pray many times for God to even forgive her of any wrongs she unknowingly did. Anyway, I was at her bedside when she died back in 1998 at age 86. I have never forgotten the experience. She had been in a comatose state for over 3 days when one of her favorite pastors from years past came by the hospital for a visit. I moved aside to let him pray for my mom then he stepped back to the edge of the room. A few minutes later, he asked me if I could let him beside her again. I did. He put his hand on her forehead and said "God into your hands I commend Sis. Henry's spirit" She opened her eyes and I saw the look of amazement & peace cross over her face. She definitely saw something we could not see. She closed her eyes once more and was gone. There was a sense of awe in the crowded room. No one spoke. No one cried. We all just stood quietly taking in the moment. We all felt that Mom was with the One she had worshipped and longed to be with for all her life. I had seen a few deaths before but there was something definitely different about my Mom's death. I remember thinking how beautiful death could be.

michael, I believe (notice the word I) that the saved are in a place of peace...the wicked are in a place of torment...

I am not saying I am right for that is not a heaven or hell issue...I just hope I can live in a manner that I will inherit eternal life. To me ( a woman) that is important...I know men like to debate...

I don't have all of the answers,and there is definitely a punishment of the wicked taught in the bible,I certainly don't believe UR,but if a wicked person's body decomposes,then my next question is,where in the bible are sinners give immortal bodies ?
I understand that the saved will be given incorruptible bodies,but what about the sinners ?Of course I know the unjust will be punished ?But I don't know exactly what form they will be in ,when they are punished,however their punishment won't be pleasant.
