Congressial Recess

I have just been informed the US congress is in a recess in honor and respect to a religeous movement that is very similar to the Muslim religion, in that they too deny Jesus is the Christ and in fact percieve He is an enemy of their religion.
I contend we are a Christian nation and as such should honor ONLY Christian type Holidays. If we start allow honor to religeous groups honor that are in oppostion to Jesus Christ and Christianity, we are in trouble.
This natin has been blesses of God not because of our toleration of other anti-Christ type religions, but because we founded this nation on the belief in Jesus Christ and Christian princples.
I do not come against any particular religeous group, just our congress should not take time off for ANY group, be they Muslim, Hindu.
If congress had taken a recess in honor of Ramadan, we would be up in arms, but since it is not them, it must then be ok. NOT!
We are a Christian nation, and it is not time to relenquish our Christian dominance in the USA for any group.
Lord Bless

Re: Congressial Recess

You have been misinformed.

It's the Jewish Holiday - Rosh Hashanah

They believe in God.

Our country was founded on God.

what are you a Jew hater? LOL!

come on, the recess is in honor of a Jewish holiday and has a long history of observance. We are foundedo on Judeo-Chirsitan principles and it is completely proper to recognize this holiday.

how sillly.

We are not a Christian nation. Our Constitution does not allow a state religion.

Depending on your definition of Christian the first statement may very well be true.

Not sure the relevance of the second one. No statement was made regarding the establishment of a state religion, much less that it would be Judaism.

However, I fail to see the logic in congress taking the day off for Jewish New Year, especially under the circumstances.

I do not believe I am misinformed.
I know it was Rosh Hashanah.
What if it was Ramadan?
The Muslims believe in God/Allah. (they think it is the God of Abraham).
The Jewish people do not believe Jesus was/is God. This nation was founded by those that were strict believers in Jesus as God. (not all were trintarians back then)
The Jewish people (I pray for them) have not accepted the God we worship...Jesus.

No I am not a Jewish hater. I love the Jews and the Muslims and the Catholics, and the Hindus and the Buddists etc. They all need Jesus.
Still yet, how would we react to congress taking time off for Ramadan?
Both Jews and Muslims reject Jesus, so my question is why should our Government give honor to any of their holidays.
We were not founded on Judeo-Christian principles. That is incorrect. We are founded on the Word of God as HE delivered it to His people that in the Old Testament times were Jews, but they strayed from Him. He came to Earth and basically founded Christianity on which we in these US of A established our great nation.
There was nothing Jewish in the founding of this nation. It was Christian.
I beleive we do them and all others a disservice by honoring their false or unacceptable (to God) religions or holidays.

We are a nation build upon "Christian" principles based on the Word of God.
