 I do!
If your definition of "Apostolic church" is:
Repentance
Baptism (by immersion) in the name of Jesus
Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues
That would be my church!
If your definition is what some people call "standards" (I prefer "preference and/or "convictions") - well I hold them - my pastor holds them and teaches them (but not every service) - but we have many people who are welcome to worship with us who don't....

They cloistered themselves like the monastic saints of the past. So much for salt and light.

I spent most of my teen years in a UPC church, followed by another decade in one that had broken away from the mothership. Since moving to AZ we have been attending a large church loosely associated with the AoG here in East Mesa, just South of Red Mountain.

In the computer world (which I believe you are heavily invested in if I remember fight) we call it "not being able to put the genii back in the bottle".
Granted, that saying is usually brought up when talking about file sharing.

True. Many of them are quiet. And maybe it's just my perception, but that silence seemed to coincide with the ramping up to and formation of the WPF. Is that my imagination? Was it coincidence?
I know at the WPF Youth Conference in Tulsa last year, the youth were instructed to stop talking about the formation of the WPF online, in forums, etc. It makes me wonder if the member ministers haven't been equally discouraged from online communications. (At least with those who might be liberal.)
I understand that the discussion can get tiresome if it's just going around in circles. I just don't understand the need to separate from someone just because they disagree with your views--IF that's the motivation.
Some days I don't like to have discussion, but on other days it helps me sharpen my own brain, and refine my own views, so I find it productive.

I agree. I don't mind other viewpoints, because it helps me to make sure my opinions are biblically-based. I believe that my beliefs should be able to stand up to a challenge.

IMHO this has nothing to do with the WPF, and it certainly had nothing to do with a "WPF" commuique requesting that their ministers abstain from online communication. The request @ PEAK last year was simply to protect the young people from unecessary attacks and divisive issues.
The WPF has purposely not published their numbers etc, so as to not draw attention one way or the other. (I know it may shock some of you, but there has been NO "see how many we took from...." mentality) However, as evidenced here on AFF, there are many people who were/are misinformed, and who are very vocal about their feelings concerning the issue. So to keep the young people from having to deal with the whole "my group is better," "your group is wrong" etc they advised them not to discuss the WPF online.
As for AFF........it has definately changed in the couple of years since I came on board........IMO.......not a "good" change.

Elder, I figure "what's the use, it isn't as widely believed, preached or held up the way it used to be?"
I am not talking about standards either, I am talking about Acts 2:38 One God message which should be without question.
Sad!
