As an old geezer I try to wear a loud tie if they don't remember the sermon they will remember the tie.

It was an honor being in service with you tonight Brother Epley.

I am certainly glad to hear about the revival with Elder Epley. I trust many people come to know the Lord, since First Pentecostal Church in Colorado Springs obviously feels they should be the only UPC church trying to reach the 350,000+ people in the city.

Me too!
Truly, it was neat to see the pic! Appreciating all that Bro. Epley brings not only to this board but to the lives of those he ministers to!

Well, my dear brother, I'm not a renegade family member here but I do stick up for what is right. I don't think that anyone stated that FPC wants to be the only upc church in that town. For the record, I don't have an axe to grind and I do know Pastor Cantu and what has been stated is the truth. I knew him before he ever went to COS.
Now, if you're finger is feeling itchy go ahead and reach and you can fall from the saddle like the rest. If not, we'll call it good and ride on. A Sackett always stands for what is right, not what benefits a certain affiliated party.

By the way, do you count the people who actually quit their jobs, sold their homes and moved to another state in order to break their ties with FPC and then moved back in state after a few years as being among the "saints" that were "stolen?" Seems like a lot of trouble for someone to go through just for the chance to wear a polo shirt.
What about those who were transfered by their employers to another city, say a city about 60 miles away? Did you help them load their furniture in a "saintly" fashion and wish them the best, or did you demand that they commute over 120 miles a day just to maintain their membership at FPC? And then when they finally did break away - how do you talk about them today? Just what sort of standards do you maintain?
Oh, one last thing... is Elder E. explaining these complexities to FPC membership to the new ones he's praying through? Or are you just going to spring it on them as a big surprise?

Good sir, I can't say that I totally agree with what Holinesspk said. What he stated may be true, but to put it out there like that was not a good thing to do, imo.
Now, I can't say that I know you and I only perceive that you know Holinesspk a little more than on a forum level (you have referenced his name).
FTR, the pastor being talked about is in Colorado Springs, not Monument. I don't think that we need to go any further there. From the examples that you have used to address Holinesspk, I would also perceive that you are familiar with the situation. I am as well though I do not live there. I wouldn't consider those that moved to a different state and moved back as those "stolen". And, if someone was transferred to another city, say about 60 miles away, I know that they were not commanded to commute 120 miles round trip to stay apart of that church. But know this, the Pastor being mentioned here is only 10 miles away from FPC.
I guess my beef about your whole post here is how responded to Hpk. I would venture to say that he has no say so whatsoever at all when it comes to what standards are held up and who was stolen. Get my drift?
Sorry to highjack your thread here Elder. Maybe I should have just kept on riding. I'm hoping to drop back by here and read some more wonderful reports, that is, if you all are continuing on.
God bless!

I was going to let it rest after I posted:

... but since you want to associate Elder E's good work with your own smear of a neighbor, well, I'll just post it again. Read that carefully, and think even more carefully about whether you want to to draw on me.
The real Tyrel would wouldn't waste a bullet point on you. How about you go up to Elder E. and apologize the first chance you get? This is his thread. I really don't think he's preached anything to you folks about showing the kind of attitude that you've shown.

"Nate" identified himself by name in his post. I would not have even been able to guess at it otherwise.
Your "beef" is a bit unclear. If it's an important matter, please help me out. If not, I see your statement addressed to the Elder and am satisfied myself to "ride on."

You really need to take your own advice.
