Re: Tattoos
Follow up....
I know we're not under the Law, but I don't think everything in the old Testament is completely irrelevant. I still believe there are good princiles in the law, but I believe that the law as a means to attain righteousness is done away with in Christ.....hope that clarifies

- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Tattoos
What about the scripture about smoking crack! If it's not in the bible then it's not sin, right?

And here again, you make an astute observation. You missed your calling...you should have been a criminal defense attorney!! (The DA would love you)
This is a tremendous argument since we all know that smoking crack and getting a tattoo has an identical affect on an individual. It's true, I've met people who go get a tattoo and then their mind is so messed up they can't drive their car, hold a job, it's illegal, prison time if you get caught.......you're right....the principle behind tattoos and smoking crack are IDENTICAL!!!
Good grief.

I was making a point that not every work is spelled in scripture.

But it's not a valid point!! Not even within a galaxy of a valid point. You've made an arbitrary decision that tattoos are evil. But you can't just decide something is wrong!! That's legalism. If you don't like them, don't get one. And...if you expect others to follow suit, make a biblical argument. But don't walk into the courtroom of discussion and declare, "Just because the bible doesn't......". That's just not good enough. That's the same logic that prohibits women from wearing earrings, men from having beards, and young people from playing organized sports.

Re: Tattoos
Don't like tattoos at all! Don't have any; don't intend to get one. I think they look trashy and really less than classy. That being said, I don't preach against them nor do I say anything negative from the pulpit because it's my personal opinion.
That being said, I don't know why someone would want to get a permanent marking on their body that they would have to cover up.
If I EVER got a tattoo, which I won't, there would only be 2 possibilities:
1. Phi. 4:13 (just the reference)
2. Mdot (ironman logo)
But again, it ain't gonna happen.

Re: Tattoos
Tattoos?
They look very unnatural and out of place on a human body IMO.
