Mr. Smith you are on an Apostolic forum for what reason?

I'm not concluding there were only 12 that spoke in tongues, but I think the number is possible. I haven't discounted the experience as not being for us today. Just asking questions if that's alright with you. Who knows, I could be here hoping to have my questions answered and be interested in sharing with you in your "apostolic" experience, but needing help in breaking through a few barriers. If you like, I can head over to a Baptist forum and seek their help. I'm sure they'd be glad to answer my questions.

Well, that and a bunch of nobody Samaritans in Acts 10 had the same experience (sans the fire balls, roaring wind sounds and divided tongues)

or Paul's comments "I speak in tongues more than you all" which at the very least indicates that they did also speak in tonges...

or a 2 chapter treties on the subject in Corinthians dealing with the subject... none of the Apostles were there to my knowledge.

Excellent point. I'll head over to www.methodistfriendsforum.com or heck, I could even try www.methodistidentity.com for the more liberal side of the group.

seriously im back on the other thread playing nice.

I am sorry for lobbing the bomb at you.

I do think you have a point here (as the video you posted here and the link to the paper you found in the other thread) however, i could have pointed those things out without the shapstick.

This is about 98% schtick, Ferd.

In all seriousness, I think it's fascinating the completely opposing conclusions that are drawn out of the same words, with each tossing the "False Doctrine" grenade at each other. I just wonder how many of us EVER...on either side....consider the possibility of being wrong?

You know, if I'm reading a western and it says that Tyrel Sackett drew his gun and shot the bad guy between the eyes, every one of us conclude that Tyrel shot the bad guy between the eyes.

Yet, in the most important book we have in history, it's false doctrine this, false doctrine that.

What if....I mean, what IF, we get to heaven and find out that tongues actually were ceased in the early church? And what IF the baptists get there and find out they were legit?

I just think it's interesting that we roll in the mud of theory and rhetoric and every single darn one of us could be wrong.

seriously I dont do schtick appologies. the first line "it wont do any good" was a joke...hense the giggle.

the rest was after the "seriously" which means no schtick...

as for your view here. i can only take the word as written and as I understand it.

it is my fondest hope, that i get to heaven and find a bunch more folk there than I currenly believe will be there. that does not in any way change my doctrine.

i just am not post-modern enought to wring my hands over stuff like that.
