I grew up in the south...and I know there is a lot of problems over color...I have had pastors to tell me not to bring my black children....one place they said it was for our safety...and in all fairness some churches are located in areas where the neighbors might do harm even if the church people didn´t care...sad but true...and this does work both ways many times some black churches wish whites would stay away...
