BUT, for all purposes, this IS a conservative UPC church.
When I hear someone speak of being conservative; it's a turn off to me, because there has been found that there's a lot of HYPOCRICIES among this suppposed moral group; both spiritually and politically; it's a real turn off to me personally.

What part of TB's church doesn't fit your brand of conservatism?

I understand the folks from Jackson saying they think the church is conservative but in truth conservatives never considered them conservative and in truth I doubt seriously if TB considered himself a conservative?

I don't presume to answer for Elder Epley....well, ok I do a bit. LOL!!!

I think it is a safe bet to say that TB's church allowed short sleeves, the use of video in services and in the home along with what I am sure are many more violations of the con and ultra con rule book!

The two I mentione alone take TB's church out of the conservative column for folks like the good Elder.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
