Seekerperson's "Romanist church" schtick is a hoot. It is amazing how many fringe elements there are in Pentecost.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

There are more pastors of traditional churches that have the right attitude and approach to leadership than don't. If you haven't found them, I would say you're just looking in the wrong places. They're out there. And there are plenty of church going saints who think for themselves and study and have a walk with God. But they also practice self willed submission to a church leader, not as a dictator or in an unhealthy way, but recognizing God has called men and women to lead His church and He uses them as ONE WAY OF SEVERAL WAYS to speak to His people and lead them on the journey of faith.

I appreciate the kind remarks. I do try. Do I fail? Sadly I do. But those who never fail never try.

"I don't go to a Romanist Church!" = I don't submit to anyone spiritually, I don't tithe, I don't volunteer to support ministries of the Church, I'm not accountable to a church family, I'm a spiritual Lone Ranger, I had some bad experiences in traditional church settings so I've thrown the baby out with the bathwater, my way is better than everyone else's...
