Yeah maybe. Or maybe some from the congragation called the church to find out if they were having services too.

A call tree could be in place where you make one call and those call 10 others. Said they run 150 on Tues. evenings.

I would also think people are smart enough to realize that if there's a tornado warning that's in place, it's best to stay put on their own and they didn't need a phone call. The warning had been in place for a while before the tornado hit. This terrible weather had been predicted the day before and it fell right into place as they predicted it would happen.

Yeah, they probably canceled the day before then. Just thankful that everyone was safe. Give God the glory.

Not saying that, but I do know that our schools here in Memphis canceled at noon that day expecting the impending weather! They were right on with that call!

I am betting a lot more will work like this from here out after the damage that was done there.... I know here in Tx... they just take em to the cafeteria if we have watches or warnings... its a lot different...

However in OKC.. I was glad they did it that same way... because the school was the safest place... 75% of the girls school was underground...

When I was 14 or 15 years old I was in a church in Louisiana that was directly hit by a tornado during the Wednesday night service.

It sounded like you were standing next to a freight train on one side and a jet airplane engine on the other. Very scary!

When it hit you never heard such praying in all your life!!! Especially the freaked out women. There was enough wailing to make you think we were at the wailng wall in Jerusalem.

When it was over the Sanctuary was miraculously standing with just the roof damaged and rain coming in but the two story brick educational building attached had the entire
2nd story ripped off and carried away as if it had never existed. Thank heavens there was no one up there at the time.
