why does it have to be an aluminum pan with aluminum foil?

Hey now don't be dissin my Italian sister there...she's a cutie AND she can cook! :-)
Reminds me of a story about a lady that would cook a roast and always cut off part of one end...she learned to do that watching her mother cook. One day someone noticed and asked her why and she simply said because her mother did....
now curious next time she got a chance she asked her mother why she always cut part of one end off and her mother replied so it will fit hahahaha
