When preachers said this, I used to hear it wrong, when I was a kid. Thought they were saying "rightly divining the Word". Actually, maybe they were! Considering how many of them mispronounce things. Lazareth, for Lazarus. Coronicles, for Chronicles. (That's a Texas or Southern thing, I think.) Sandalakeeya for shandalaheeya. (Sorry, couldn't resist! )

I belong to the FGBMFI (Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International). One of our regular meetings is a prayer meeting one Tuesday a month. About 4-8 guys get together to pray for an hour. One of our members was named Dave. He was blind. He's gone on to his reward. But several times as we were gathered there together around the table, Dave would ask God to pour out His shemima glory. Here we were, praying and supposed to be spiritual, and when I would hear Dave ask God to pour out His shemima glory, all I could see in my mind was Aunt Jemima. I'm old enough to remember the older images of Aunt Jemima before the days of PC (Political Correctness).

How about the preacher (from Louisiana, if I remember correctly) who stopped some kids from playing marbles? After he'd stepped into the circle, kicked the marbles in all directions, he said in his best holiness preacher style voice, "The Bible says 'marvel not.'"
