Jim Sleeva was a AIMer to Germany who ministered at Ramstein airforce base, ministered to the Eastern block, smuggled in bibles/tracts and has been a minister at Calvary Indy for almost 2 decades. He is literally the spiritual backbone of IBC. He has been the mens dorm supervisor for almost 20 years.

He literally shapes many of the young ministers who come to IBC. he takes the time to counsel young men and give them wisdom when they are on the edge of making ministry killing mistakes at times. He does it very quietly and has most likely helped dozens if not hundreds of young ministers see a example of a 100% selfless christian.

You never heard of him if you haven't been to IBC. But he is one of the great unknown shapers of a hundred churches that are either being planted or will be planted by his influence on up and coming ministers. His connection to the spiritual gifts are awesome, he works in knowledge, wisdom, discernment, healing and miracles. He isnt married and most likely never will by choice (and yes hes a mans man).

He is one of my examples I can always go to when I want to picture what its like to be a deeply mature christian.

p.s. I did this because i'd rather than a Jim Sleeva than a showboat evangelist type of guy any day of the week.

Didn't go there... don't know Jim, ..... don't know you Apocrypha; but thanks for what you have done here today. I attended Bro. David Hennigans funeral yesterday in DeQuincy, La and they did an awesome job honoring him. But it's so good to see someone get their flowers while they are still alive. Thanks! My hats off to you and Bro Jim as well!

Jim must have an impact on my son in law, Nate. After IBC, Nate went on AIM with Br Enis at Ramstein AFB in Germany. Was suppoosed to be there for a year but he ended up staying there 3 years.

Re: Jim Sleeva appreciation thread

I met Jim and got to know him in Germany in the lates 70's. He has been a good friend to my brother thru the years. I have always remembered him as someone who took the time to listen and help others.
