Re: Romans 8:9 the Acid Test for Status before God
but you see it as a process, so that if someone dies while in process they still check in upstairs?

As God's Word sets you apart and you respond. God "considers" your response just or not. In walking in the path you stand covered by his blood. To be justified is to be seen as walking in faith. That is the basics of covenant life. Coming into covenant/salvation is another issue which involves baptism and receiving the HS. Which all comes turning to him and his will from the heart.

Pastor Keith has it exactly right. Sanctification is a process. Amanah, I would say if someone is in the process of coming to sanctification, they are justified already, and they are ready for glory should they die. It's only when a person refuses to continue in the journey and begins to enjoy sin knowing it is wrong that they are lost.
Keith you got it right about Romans 8:9. To walk in the Spirit and be led of the Spirit takes time. The latter part of Romans 7 shows the pathway of failure, and Paul gives the remedy at the last two verses. It is addressing Rom 7:6's question of whether one is serving God after the Law or after the Spirit. People do not stop to think they may be serving God incorrectly, with a walk after the law -- even making New Testament statements into rules and laws which the flesh utilizes to make itself holy. If Romans 7 was clearly taught and understood, there would be no legalism or fleshly christianity.

It's amazing how few christians know about it and how little preachers preach and teach it.

When the Biblical narrative is, "walk in the Spirit, and then you won't fulfill the lust of the Flesh."
Haha, right!
And many think that if you have the Holy Ghost then you are walking after the Spirit, as if obeying Acts 2:38 means you are automatically walking after the Spirit. Not so! One has to LEARN how to walk after the Spirit, since so much "knowledge of good and evil" is in our instincts. The Spirit is LIFE, and people have the Holy Ghost still eating from the false tree.
