Actually, last year we had NG come and speak at our District Ladies Retreat and she spoke on the very subject of "being overweight". Needless to say, those that were offended did not buy the CD to take home and share with the ladies that could not attend. Sometimes truth does hurt.
Do you know my brother or do you just remember him posting a few times on the other forum? He's doing great... we ride bikes 12 miles a day 7 days a week and he has dropped a VERY significant amount of weight since we started in April... and even more in the last year or so.
As we stress our importance to the old paths, I would like to propose that the following rule be added to the Articles of Faith:
We wholeheartedly disapprove of our ministers using printed materials, PA systems and motor vehicles. The printing press has been used to perpetuate all sorts of evil since its inception, including printing NAZI propaganda leaflets, and an entire pornography industry is thriving because of this invention. PA systems are used by rock and roll musicians to incite worldly crowds into a frenzy. If Jesus could speak to a crowd of thousands without a PA system, then if a minister is in His will, a PA system is not necessary. Motor vehicles are modern conveniences for lazy people who are not willing to walk from place to place.
There are countless statistics of people operating motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol and it is reported that these vehicles are used to go to all sorts of nefarious destinations. Since no man is better than Jesus, and we should follow the example of the apostles, door-knocking and other sorts of witnessing should be carried out on foot.
The human condition is such that they look for easier ways to do things, and door knocking while on foot is the tried and true method of the apostles. Furthermore, because of the multitude of ways electricity can be used for evil purposes, we disapprove of any of our people having electricity in their homes. Electricity is the gateway to all sorts of sinful activities, be it viewing television, playing rock and roll music, and other dastardly deeds. We admonish all of our people to refrain from any of these practices in the interest of spiritual progress and the soon coming of the Lord for His church.

Because of all the corruption, promiscuity, drug and alcohol abuse, the glorification of homosexuality on both sides, the obsfucation of morality, the subjugation of women (um...scratch that. ) and the satanic influence the fashion industry has on our youth and pretty much everyone else...
