I was focusing on the task at hand, so the gorilla was irrelevant. There could have been a fire-breathing dragon and it still wouldn't have changed the task I was asked to complete... but that was a cool trick, I didn't see the gorilla until the second time.

It was the specific task I was given to complete... if I was asked to manage the entire thing I would have paid more attention to my surroundings. I wasn't asked to look at the big picture so I didn't. If I am on a project that has 15 different sub-projects and I am in charge of one sub-project, then I only care about the other sub-projects if they affect my sub-project... if I were to get too focused on the whole project, I would not do a very good job managing my sub-project.
On this forum, sometimes I feel like I am the gorilla walking around that nobody sees.

I didn't see the gorilla till they explained it...which means I watched it TWICE without ever seeing him! Buwahahaha!!!
I was very intensely watching the ball...nothing else was important! I was given a task, and that's all I needed to be concerned with! 
So THERE!!!
