This is a subject that has recently came up at my church.
We have a young lady that invited a young man to church one night. She's white...he's black....They are both just starting college classes.
Anyway after church at dinner with pastor and his daughter and her family, Pastor asked if we knew who had invited the young man. He commented on how polite he was and just seemed to be a good guy.
When I told him that this young lady brought him he remarked "I hope she isnt' thinking of dating him!"
mind you I have NEVER been around ministers that have had an issue with interracial relationships. I said...well maybe later on when he gets in church.
I got shot the funniest looks. I just stared at the pastor's daughter and she whispered..."she doesn't need to date a black man at all is his point"
Im still infuriated about it. Its pure ignorance.
Good time to educate him. But I doubt anyone would be brave enough to say it to me considering my wife is black.

I do wonder at times how much this affects the move of the Spirit of God in a church.
I'm sure it must affect it to some extent.

Daniel 12:3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars for ever.
You are one of the few people who really makes sense.
I admit, I am a bit crass at times and I do my best to be 'toned down'.
I simply disagree that those who are pro-interracial have the right to have a nasty attitude towards those who are not.
There have been many, many times the pro camp have badgered me
I have demonstrated that on this thread. By being as crass as I have those 'super spiritual' people would have gnashed on me with their teeth if I had been in the same room.
Question: Where were you when I needed raising?
Ron
LOL!!! Sorry. I do tend to get the "Mama" complex sometimes.

Can an unrepentant racist be saved and Holy Ghost filled?
I'd say yes.
There are many folks who were/are racist and didn't/don't realize it.
If you don't realize you are committing a specific sin, it's difficult to repent of that sin. Is my theology wrong here?
I see a difference between being prejudiced, racist and hateful. One can be all three, but I seldom see that. My Dad has run into those kind of folks, but if I have, they hid it extremely well.
It's difficult to be hateful and not know it, imho.
It's not so difficult to be an unknowing racist.
Every one has prejudices-- some good, some bad, some justified, some unjustified.

I noticed you parsed my post so it only read the way you wanted it to read, just like liberal editors in magazines and newspapers.
Check your eye beam at the door as you leave.

Ron,
If I would have come close to gnashing on you, it would have been because you accused me of being "high and mighty", compared me to liberal magazine editors and then told me to go somewhere.
I have had friends and co-workers who have expressed their opinions on this with me and they did not get the response that I gave you.
I am not a high and mighty kind of person.
I don't make it a habit to read, "The New Yorker" and other blatantly liberal fare.
I'm a pretty level headed man.
I'm willing to discuss your views with you if you are willing to discuss your views and not act like you know me.
Don't prejudge me. I haven't prejudged you.
Come on in. Make yourself at home. Want me to grab a bottled water from the fridge for you? I have lemonade if you would rather have that.
Ok, so tell me-- do you find being against inter racial marriages a morally defendable position? If so, how?

Haven't read the thread, so I will say this, I am in no way racist. I love every ethnic culture, from my own, to Sister Alvears in Brazil, to Bro Edmonds in Taiwan, to Bro Dan Alecia's, to Bro Emory's, etc, etc, etc.
Having said that, I feel that in some places in America, it would be a lack of wisdom to condone an interracial relationship. I must admit that I would prefer my daughter and Sons to marry within our race. The stigma and taboo is still there for me. I have good friends that are interracial, and have no stigma or issues toward them in the least. But I guess it is still there when it comes to my kids. Sorry for just being honest.

I appreciate your honesty and your perspective, but what you have said is a far cry from specifically prohibiting it for the people in your church who don't feel the way you do, and teaching that it is wrong based on Scripture. We are all free to live our lives by our own specific preferences. Personally, I was never even close to marrying someone white, but you have to be careful that you keep your personal preferences just that...personal preferences.
