Re: Are we too BUSY
I like being free to do whatever whenever.
It's hard for me to make plans too far in advance because by the time it comes around I might not want to do that.
I like impromptu fellowship. A call at 5:00 asking what's up - wanna meet for dinner?
I'm not too busy, just have a different focus now than I use to.

Re: Are we too BUSY
There's plenty of fellowship, friendships, prayer, Bible study, worship, and freedom among those in house churches.

Re: Are we too BUSY
For me, I have a job that demands my attention. I have a wife and a son. My wife also works so her work schedule and it's demands come into play. Travel from work to home and from home to church or some other function is time consuming. The only real time for "fellowship" that we could find was on Saturday....but most wanted to do their own thing on Saturday because it was their day off....church folks are busy all day Sundays. So many errands are in demand on Saturday. Since most of our church friends are busy on Saturday and it seems like they don't meet with consistancy....my wife and I meet with some work friends (unsaved) at a local restaurant/sports bar to watch Ohio State games on Saturdays.

Re: Are we too BUSY
Both of my "personalities" will post to this......
Me...My carnal flesh and human failures.....
We are so busy with our lives, working, cooking, cleaning, running errands, just being wrapped up in " our own little world" that we can't see the PRIORITY of fellowship. I know this, because I do all the thing above and then hubby invites someone over and all of a sudden my "work load" has tripled and I have to get the house cleaned and supper cooked on time, etc, etc. But then once they are here and we are laughing and talking and eating dessert, I'm like..."Why don't we do this more oftern."
The PASTOR'S WIFE'S point of view......
Yes, we are all too stinking busy to make GODLY fellowship a PRIORITY!!!!! I know because I'm a wife, mother, pastor's wife, I hold a full time job, I babysit, I cook, clean.........you get the message.....But yes, we are way too busy. So busy in fact that it is rare that we can even "slow down" enough to stop and see a HUNGRY or HURTING soul that the Lord allowed to cross our paths. I can say these things, because I'm just as guilty if not more than the rest of us.
We need to realize that we are not an island and we can NOT survive by ourselves. If you don't make it a priority NOW, when your children are grown and you have retired, you'll be an awful miserable person.
THE ANSWER IS YES WE ARE TOO BUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my friends down the road her husband and her have come by I dont know how many times to offer help for things I was unable to fix. Even our landlord will call and check on us from time to time when Rob is gone to make sure we dont need anything.
For it being a suburb of a very large city we have had nothing but wonderful experiences here and I am so thankful I am home! My experience has been totally opposite of Rhonis... Florida and some of the other states we have lived were horrible.. in florida the only people we really knew at all after almost 3 yrs was our pastor and his wife... and one other couple... and the neighbors were horrid!!! LOL
