Re: Why I Choose to stay anonymous...
Quite a few people know how I "really" am, where I live, who my pastor is, etc. However, for new, unknown strangers who join the forum, I prefer to remain anonymous unless or until I feel they're trustworthy. Lots of people have connected with me on fb, and that's a much more transparent medium.
My overall thought to being anonymous was that I didn't want anything I said to reflect negatively on my church or pastor, since my personal opinions and views may not line up perfectly with him or with the UPCI. I'd rather be able to post without having to parse my words or walk on eggshells.

They are doing great actually, and I am sure they don't mind me sharing... The incident is long forgotten and things are healed over.

This is pretty much what I would say too - thanks for doing it for me!

As far as pictures, I don't post mine. If I did, then it's fair game since its the www.

Re: Why I Choose to stay anonymous...
I answered that I have my own reasons.
The church I left believes that because I left their church I will go to hell unless I go back to their church. They also have a policy that if they find out that I have said anything that makes them look bad, like my just posting that they believe I am going to hell, they will cut me off from having contact with my family members that are still there.
They probably know who I am, but they can't PROVE it. As long as they can't prove who I am, I can still have contact with my family. It is hard enough that I will never again be able to call and talk to the 100's of people that I love for the rest of my days, I don't want to add that I can't call my family.

Except your mugshot is posted as your icon. Your church folk that stumble on here would immediately recognize you. That is you in the pic, right?
