Tend to agree with Apoc. I could care less how wealthy "they" are. However, it matters a great deal if they are

#1. Propagating lies to build that wealth

#2. Use deceptive tactics to hide extravagance made possible by nonprofit donations. This kind of activity has been documented repeatedly by some of these charlatans.

Except your buddy never put forth those arguments.

Yeah. I'd also block TEEN NICK. Was channel surfing and stopped at TN. There was a show by the name of Degrassi. Two dudes started kissing. I was like, wow... ...this is family programming today? ABC FAMILY isn't any better.

Ya, I caught seconds of that show where there were some girls in a classroom (very well endowed girls) showing far too much cleavage. I NEVER remember seeing that when I was in Junior and Senior high.

Now I don't MIND cleavage, when it is my wife's, but don't need to be seeing it on 16 and 17 year old girls.

Re: Saw some TBN that didn't make me cringe

There's nothing wrong with living comfortably with money you've worked hard to earn; however, as a Christian, if you reach an area of comfort where you have excess and you don't share it with those in need, I consider that to be a sin. I'm pretty certain I can find sound Bible to back THAT up.

It becomes disgusting when someone who is supposed to represent Christian values is rolling in dough but begging for [more] money instead of giving it away.

That said, as much as I dislike Paul and Jan Crouch and everything about TBN, this thread is incomplete and unfair without a list of their charitable contributions and any outreach efforts they support complete with dollar amounts.

Anyone have that lying around somewhere?

I do appreciate Franklin Grahams Good Samaritan organization and have been involved for a number of years now.

Like so many things in life, it is not what you have it's how you use it. I have seen far too many good christians of all stripes that work eagerly to look like they have more than they do in reality. Even good holiness folk can fall prey. At my mother in laws funeral I watched a pastors wife walk in wearing a $10,000 mink coat. Now, I really don't care whether she had that coat or not. But WHY she was wearing it and WHEN she was wearing it and HOW she was wearing it mattered a great deal. The term "New Money" seems to apply here.
