The reason most of you all fail to notice the chimp suit is because you were focusing on only white shirts and intentionally blocking out all others. The chimp suite was wearing black too like the other players

The reason I actually noticed the chimpsuit is because he was in the middle not moving. I could see the black team moving around but I was not watching their passes. I noticed the chimpsuit the first time around because he was in the center not moving around like the others

I don't know about the "normal people" part!
Myself, I get really focused at the task at hand. Sometimes I get too focused!! In fact, I have the ability to block out other activities going on around me.
Maybe that's why I was a sucker for this experiment!
A majority of folks will miss the gorilla. Maybe it depends on one's ability to have a singular focus!
