Because in theory it was to Unite the fellowship, but it divided the group. OR Maybe that was the point was to weed out the progressive ones. I believe that there would be alot more members in the Fellowship/Organization if the blasted, infernal thing never came up. IMO
An org has to have some kind of accountability for it's card holding members... it's an honor system. I know preachers who sign the statement and put a disclaimer on it... saying what they do or do not do.. and they haven't been kicked out over it.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Other than the fact it was "deceitfully" introduced the first time, surely those in the organization have since signed? Also, what were the changes that were so bad that ministers would want to leave then? And since this happened 15 years ago it apparently wouldn't apply to the newer ministers, do they also have a problem with re-affirming? (Sincere questions)
Obviously for the last question, you'd have to ask each individual.
And yes, despite the deceit almost everyone has signed. I continued to sign myself until I was lied to about another issue. Then I had to lay my card down. I just couldn't take the org at their word any longer. It was all a big game to those who wielded power.
FWIW, the last time I brought this up I was asked to give "proof." I did so via PMs and quelled even my severest critics. Believe me, you don't want to know the depths of depravity that the so-called "conservatives" are hiding. It's a shame and has disgraced the Apostolic movement for years.
Old Paths: Are you comfortable with the lie that was told in 1992?
To some, it is apparent you don't believe anything you said you would uphold in the first place.
Pelathais, get over it.
So you think it was in error the way it was presented.
Seems fairly straight forward and less to sign for than when I filled out my first Western District Ministers Application.
I simply sign every two years I will still teach and believe the same way.
I know of one man who said he instead mailed in a rubber stamp and told them to ensure he was all set for the next 20 yrs. (joking of course)
Other than the fact that I can still rock you into repose, I don't get the bolded one above. "I don't believe anything..." Like what? My UPC District Board did the "due and thorough investigation" for not just one year, but two years, and they were satisfied.

Kinda like the guy who when his wife asked him why he never said he loved her "I told you I did 10 years ago, and I'll let you know if I ever change my mind"?

What year did you lay down your card?

Thank you for your candor. Sorry you had to go through that.

You know I threw NO stone your direction friend.
To some here to have a huge honking TV screen in the Family Christmas Card photo states they have a problem with more than an AS. To some here to have worldly looks, and activities states they have a problem with more than the AS. To some here who openly embrace and en friend a Trinitarian they are missing the basic doctrine. Somethings are absolute, and the AS is very vague.
At least it was the last 6 times I signed it..... coming up on the 7th this year.
