What a coincidence... this line of thinking bothers me.

I totally agree.... some things are more important. I won't elucidate beyond that.

Making a stand against a nonbiblical teaching is sowing discord?
Jesus was quite the discord sower himself from time to time.

On the other hand Acts 2:38 is not the all to end all doctrine either. An experience of repenting, being baptized into the name of Jesus and receiving the Spirit is INITIAL salvation.
This is followed by a walk wherein one LOVES THE TRUTH. Not just PART of the truth.
There are many crooked Politicians and Salesmen in this world who mostly go around in suits. Why is there no compulsion to get Apostolic men out of suits? After all they are ASSOCIATED with worldliness right? Wall Street Types?
Yet most Preachers will ENCOURAGE wearing them. Now this is not to start a suit war but to show the double standard that Apostolic Traditional Preachers are binding upon men.

Bro MOW said the other day that too many saints have drank the elixir that disagreement is always rebellious. That couldn't be further from the truth.
BTW I do not have a beard. The reason is because I want to be used on the platform. I am conforming. But I still think its ridiculous
Also my last post was a little harsh. Sorry Lady Chocolate. Here have a piece of dark chocolate with pecans and sprinkles.

I guess I did make it sound easy to just pack of and leave..... I know it isn't ...And no, church hopping is not the answer....Things aren't always going to be perfect......I've been in some pretty rough situations at church. We've taken the low road many times. In our case, disagreement was considered rebellion.....because it was said that if the pastor doesn't like it, then it should become law.....THat is when we had to say farewell. But somethings are just tooooo minor to be contensious over.....
BTW...thanks for the chocolate...it was very good!

I am referring to saints who stay in a church and talk to others about how this is wrong and the pastor shouldn't do this and the pastor is wrong on this... That is pretty much what I am saying...and that is usually what happens when unhappy people remain in a church.... Things should be done decently and in order... that's what i'm meaning.. because you never know when you are going to cause another brother to stumble because of the words you have spoken....
Talk to the pastor,,,,,,not others......more harm is done that way...

Yes ma'am... you mean those who cause trouble and love it. Those who do what they do because they enjoy the disruption.
In total and absolute agreement on that.

That is going to be sad.
You are teaching them by example that doing your own thing is more of a priority than truth.
there are three dimensions of truth:
1.Experience--You got the Holy Ghost and got baptized in Jesus Name.
2.Doctrine--You found in the Word substantiation for your experience.
3.Fellowship--You align yourselves with those of like precious faith, forsaking error.
You need all three, Coop, if you aren't going to regress.

That is just the Card toting Pastor coming out in you.

And let's not forget that Paul rebuked Peter for requiring the Gentiles to follow a mandate that was for the Jews or they were considered in error.
