I don't think that God personally fires up every tropical depression, hurricane, monsoon etc

As I see it....
God doesn't personally make water run down hill.
God doesn't personally make trees grow leaves in the spring.
God doesn't personally make certain children born whole and personally make others have birth defects.

I feel that God has set certain laws in motion that continue on day by day.

We do sometimes seek God's intervention in some of these processes and, should he choose to intervene, then I see where God personally touches the process.

But, otherwise, I believe that nature is a process he set in motion and that continues per His design.
Per His design - agreed. God is in everything actually in the fact that He is in everything and over everything in His role as CREATOR and RULER.

NEITHER. You did not include the right answer. Neither causes storms. Storms are caused by the natural order of things set into motion at the beginning and changed by the fall of Adam.

Neither God nor Satan is sitting in the heavens or in the sky stirring a huge finger in the air and breathing hot air to mix with the cool to cause hurricans or tornadoes etc etc.

However that does not mean God can't cause a storm or still a storm. We saw Jesus do that. Satan? I don't see any evidence he can from the bible, however if he can then it is only by God's allowance that he do so

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Psalm 107:25 "For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof."

Seems simple enough to me.

There are some good scriptures in Job that I'm too tired to bother looking up at the moment.

Lightning kills 5 children praying at cross
12:00AM Tuesday April 25, 2006

MEXICO CITY - Five Mexican children were killed when a large metal cross they were praying at was struck by lightning in central Mexico, local media reported.

Five children between 9 and 16 years old died and several others suffered burns when lightning struck a white-painted metal cross set on a hill in the town of Santa Maria del Rio early on Sunday, according to two newspaper reports.

"The lightning went straight into them and killed them instantly," local Red Cross chief Eduardo Suarez told the daily El Norte.

Officials in the state of San Luis Potosi were not immediately available to confirm the report, also in El Universal.

A photo showed charring on the cross' turquoise-painted cement base, although the cross was still standing.

Several families had been participating in a midnight ceremony as part of a local religious festival that centers around the cross.

Santa Maria del Rio calls itself the "cradle of the shawl" for the traditional silk shawls that artisans have woven there since pre-Hispanic times.

I don't know. Perhaps you should ask Him.

The question was "who or what" not "why."

If we delve into the realm of "why" then many questions besides deaths we do not understand would have to be answered.

The whole book of Job.

Job's world came crashing down around him - even though he did everything "right." He worked hard and honestly, but then he was robbed of everything. So we ask, what's the point in working hard and being honest if something like that can happen to you?

Job prayed for his children and offered sacrifices in their behalf. Yet his children were all killed together in a single day. And so we ask, what's the point in praying or what's the point in raising our children correctly?

Job said that the world "hangs on nothing..."

God says, "No. The world has foundations and pillars. I set them. You just didn't happen to be there when I did."

And so today, we look at our world floating in space, seemingly without a foundation or supporting pillars, and we ask, "What's the point?" That's the test of our faith.

Frankly, the first statement seemed to me, at first to be a cop out. Then the next two statements showed your wisdom. Thanks.

One of the greatest conundrums of faith is understanding we must accept what we do not understand.
