Hey Coonskinner, I agree with you! The blood is NOT applied, it's appropriated!

CS, you sure have me spoiled for life now when it comes to eating pasta. After eating at The Cheesecake Factory, all other pasta restaurant dishes seem bland to me. Now when it comes to eating Chinese food, I have been feasting on the real thing for the past several days here in China!

Sorry, I'm off topic ain't I?

I think the pasta is applied at the restraunt, and is appropriated through the Cheesecake Factory for all dishes - including those in China.

Why are a lot of incorrect things taught?

Folks repeat what they heard someone say without really checking it out.

This particular misconception is probably less harmful than many I have heard, though it is wrong, and like every wrong concept, it does have ramifications.

Historically, systematic theology has not been one of the strengths of the Oneness movement. Our challenge is to strengthen that particular facet of our approach without losing the other very vital things that have brought us to where we are today.

Too many groups have lost their original fire and passion when they began to delve into the intellectual side of their faith. Surely it is the will of God for us to have it all.
Thank you both...

Thank you brethren for helping me to see where I have made a error about the word applied.

This is what they have done in many of the churches I have attended over the years. The blood is applied almost like a "squirt gun." They plead the blood on EVERYTHING.

Is this not disrespecting the work Jesus has already done for us? It almost reminds me of when I was catholic.

Christ purchased the entire human race for God. Therefore, those who refuse to allow him, through Spirit infilling, to take possession of what was purchased are rebels and thieves, robbing God of what rightfully belongs to him.

Amen. "Pleading the blood" is not scriptural.
