More memory space=less chance you'll have to buy a new computer next year.

Oh, Dell has pretty good customer service imho...Well good for computer customer service anyway...Never gave me any trouble with warrantying stuff either. If you shop by brand, that's mostly what you have to worry about. Shopping for the computer itself should be about what's inside the computer.

If I lived within a half hour drive I would just volunteer to build one. I'm waiting for the next Intel chipset, Ivy Bridge, to hit the shelves in a few months. Then it will be the latest processor on a ASUS motherboard and my old (current) Creative Labs X-Fi soundcard and an upgraded ATI 67xx videocard -oh yes, and 16 gigs of RAM (which is WAY over the top, but use Photoshop quite a bit....).

I just bought a Gateway netbook to travel with in place of my regular size laptop. (I take my personal laptop on biz trips along with the biz one).
I got it now because it was a good deal and I want to take it on our European vacation this summer so I can download my pics and video to it from my Camera so if my camera gets lost or stolen I will not have lost pics and video (like I did when I almost drowned in Scotland and lost my video camera a few years ago - LOL)
It has a dual core processor, 1 gb RAM, 320gb HD, web cam, 8 hour battery, built in SD reader, and only weighs about 2.5 lbs. The only issue is that small keyboard and my big thick fingers!
Have had it a couple of weeks and love it. Between it and my Kindle Fire I have pretty much everything
