H1, listen to Phil and CC1.

bottom line here, this deal will be as big an issue as you make it. The bigger you make it, the more interested your son will be.

If this were my son, I'd be contacting the school and the band director to find out exactly what is going on.

The Zs are backward, making them look like S's. Look on any KISS album cover....that's how they do it.

yes and I'd respond nicely that ok I can understand a tshirt with kiss on it.....but tell me about the "makeup"

I would not for one instant stand for my son putting on such garish goop all over himself as those members in the kiss band did.

some might be okay with stuff like that, but not this mama.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice. I went to LR's tonight and Zak had the t-shirt on. I told her about the comments made here before I left and she agreed with the comments here, something I didn't expect her to do as easily as she did.....LOL!

And I'm honored that I got a comment from Tim. I just love reading anything he has to say.

Matt, I have spoken to him, but he doesn't see it as bad, as he wasn't around during the time of KISS being evil and such. He thought the stories were pretty funny that I was relating to him, especially when I mentioned the preachers who had KISS as their topic in their sermon and how bad they were.

He told me (on his own he brought this up) that the shirt wouldn't even be worn after Saturday. He's a fun kid who doesn't take much seriously. They had a 'dress-up' day this past week and who does he want to go as?

Chris Farley! Wanted me to go to Goodwill to get him a small suit jacket to do his 'fat guy in a little coat' impersonation!!

He doesn't get into the peer pressure of school and stuff. And I keep a real good eye on him as well and keep his reins pretty tight.

I just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing in dealing with a 16 yr old. I've never had one before.

It's optional, and I don't think my son will be doing that part.

His tongue isn't long, either.....LOL!

As for school issues, I have taken them to task before, but nothing accomplished. For instance, last year, in another school district, they had 'gender-bender' day. My kids stayed home from school that day and I spoke to the person in charge. She said it was the kids' idea and she is only responsible for making sure they don't go far out in their ideas.

I told her my kids weren't going to be a part of that. They were both excused that day.

I went to the school to pick up their homework and was astonished to see a boy about 15 coming down the hall in a short jeanskirt, grandma's earrings, frilly blouse and mom's heels on, complete with makeup also.

I think *I'm* scarred for life!!!

WoT!?! Our school district is pretty "progressive" but they would never do that. And just let some kid come to school in drag and he'd be suspended - for his own safety perhaps.

You've got something about you
You've got something I need
Daughter of Aphrodite
Hear my words and take heed
I was born on Olympus
To my Father a Son
I was raised by the Demons
Trained to reign as THE ONE

God of Thunder and Rock and Roll
The spell you're under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul

Im the Lord of the wastelands
A modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
And I command you to kneel
Before the

God of Thunder and Rock and Roll
The spell you're under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul

I am the Lord of the wastelands
A modern day man of steel
I gather darkness to please me
And I command thee to kneel
Before the

God of Thunder and Rock and Roll
The spell youre under
Will slowly rob you of your virgin soul

Destroyer Album 1976 KISS

Personally I would have explained in detail why it would have been unwise to associate with a band that wrote songs that worshipped DEMONS.

The SS on the end of the Kiss logo are thunder bolts.

I feel that information (lots of it) is what a young person needs it's all about education and being informed. The young college students in our morning Bible studies love to be given information, and when that information is given out then they need to draw their own conclusion. Forcing people never works; people need to have the information to make a correct decision.
The guidence of a parent who is showing love and not frustration can give enough information to the young person so the young person can see the truth and logic of what the adult is trying to say.

Lord bless you and your son.

In Jesus name

Brother Benincasa

I said to the woman, What if the boy decides he likes to dress in women's clothing, you gonna let him!!!

She didn't answer that directly, and I didn't push for one. I was afraid of the outcome.

I like the school my son attends now, and he's happier there also.
