Until they received... the promise. That's what I'm saying. Thanks for helping me make the point.
Act 1:4 ¶ And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.
This was before the initial outpouring of the Holy Ghost (the promise we have when we fulfill the commands).
They were told to wait there until the day God had chosen to initially pour out his spirit in the NT fashion. They waited... and when the time for the promise to be released came... they all received the Holy Ghost.
It's a promise. They did as they were commanded... and they received it.
