OK - I was always told you know if someone receives the HG if (for women) they immediately are convicted of makeup, pants and cutting hair and men will shave off that beard immediately. If you have that one eyed devil in your home it will go out the door and if you smoke you never pick up a pack again - prob a few more but those are just off the top of my head. If all that doesn't happen you really didn't receive

I read like 3 pages of this thread, and this is the most liberal thread I've ever seen on here. There was a strong "liberal attitude" going on in 2010. If the forum was like this now, I wouldn't come on here. I'd go join a "Christian forum", or Jehovah's witness forum and debate there, it would get more accomplished all I can say is wow! I'm not saying this about everyone that posted but at least 85%.

It is not a wise man who will choose who has the Holy Ghost and who does not. If YOU are God then it is your portion to do that, however if you are NOT God, then let the Lord decide who does or does not have God within him.

Looks like the church was expected to be able to figure out who had the Holy Ghost or not.

Yep, looks like the church was expected to put folks to the test to see what "spirit" they actually have.

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
(Jude 1:17-21)

There it is again, the church is supposed to be able to identify those who are sensual, having not the Spirit... even though they are embedded within the church and to the untrained eye appear no different than the rest of the worshippers...

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
(2 Corinthians 11:3-4)

There's "another Jesus, another Spirit, another Gospel"? Yes, indeed there is. And not only that, but APOSTOLIC BELIEVERS can find themselves caught up in that mess if they aren't diligent.
