That is to be handled at the discretion of admin and not questioned. We have a team of admin just for this purpose and we are accountable to each other.
This started out as a direct question to admin as HO even stated that it was one admin's decision, etc. and I posted that that is the reason we have an admin area to discuss - that way one admin isn't working alone.

Posters should think before they post and suffer any consequences that may result. Not try to have it covered up. Deletion alone does not address the damages.
Whatever Admin chooses to do is their business. I'm not talking about Admin. (I think I've said this more than once!) I'm talking about what POSTERS do or don't do.
If someone posts something damaging to me personally and then a day later decides to have it deleted thats all fine and good but that alone is not sufficient action to right the wrong.
THIS was HO's point.
