16 wives,huh? (wow)
Hmm...I wonder if the Lord might be looking to send me to Cameroon soon? I'm gonna have to seriously pray about that possibility!
(just kidding, folks! just kidding)

I definately think law enforement needs to step in if teenagers are being forced into marriage in those polygamous groups, but if consenting adults want to practice polygamy, so be it. Having those people live in constant fear of being "found out" and having their compounds raided and whatnot is wrong.

Um, they are hurting the teenage boys that they expel because there aren't enough women for all of them. Do some more research on it.

That is because there must not be scripture that prohibits it. I guess it all depends on what culture you are in. Culture defines ALOT including appropriate clothes/dress.
It's not our job as USA Christians to police other cultures and enforce our standards of culture upon them.

So we know that this is customary in many cultures, but we have to remember that most of these are not founded on Judeo-Christian principles and values. Rather, they are pagan and heathenistic overall.
It's impossible to defend the practice. How can it be defended in our culture - one that has been built and formed around Biblical principles?

Does anyone have an answer?
Did "Thou Shalt not commit adultery" apply to the men, not only in the OT but the NT as well? I don't see how since many great men of God had many wives and girlfriends. I cannot find were God ever told them he was displeased with them.
Does God honor the laws of men dealing with such matters? If you say no, please explain in light of how these men of God lived.
