I was born in 81.

My first memories of church where when my pastor changed churches...I was 2 or 3.

Man, I loved those Men of God...and still do.....

Worst memory of the 80's??? All of those JCM choral singers and singings.....man I hated that junk../.

The 80s were pretty tough on me... in fact the 18 years from 1981 to 1999 were bad years... I was on the backslider express and I paid full price for the ride!

I won't go into detail but I have had better decades...

the best thing that happened to me in the 80s was meeting my sweet wife, Patti, at 9:35 on January 14, 1989. She has blessed my life in so many ways!

I was playing in a band in a night club in Alexandria, LA. She was there for a Birthday party and we were on our 9:30 to 9:45 break.

Sax for a R&B group... we even had a Hammond B3 that we took everywhere with us. HB was on Bass, Rudy was on the drums, Liz sang lead vocals (the girl could wail), and Travis (from Pitkin, LA) was on the organ!

Actually her friend and co-worker, Kim Rozelle, flagged me down and called me to their table. I was standing with Rudy and didn't think anyone would be interested in me so I sent Rudy thinking she was calling him.

He strolled over to the table all full of himself only to be sent back with his tail between his legs to get me.

Kim was a blond and I have never been attracted to blonds so I went over out of courtesy. And wouldn't you know it.. there at the table sat this beautiful, 5' maybe, 100#, dark haired gal. I couldn't wait for Kim to shut up talking so I could start a conversation with this cutie!

I sat out the last two sets and joined my Patti at her table... we married June 7 of that same year and have been happily married unto this day!

Although she is not saved, she is responsible for my return to God! that is another good story!
