But if he's a Mormon (she's?) shouldn't they be using different plot devices and characters? I mean, J. Smith told a very compelling story and all he had for inspiration was the lining of the hat he was pretending to "peer" in.
I dunno. If this is a Mormon plot it seems to be more along the lines of Melloway or whatever the "Whey-Milk" thing was that they tried to sell via multi-level marketing back in the 80's. The whole thing seems geared to make money taking advantage of a current popular fantasy craze.

But the "heroes" in the movies do good things and oppose evil. Personally I'd want my kids around that kind of brainwashing a lot more.

Dude, at my age "youthful lust" comes in pill form, so what do I know? But yes, stories that promote individual action to stand up against evil honor God.

Dunno, Bro. I've been "spiritually fellowshipping" all day with patching computer systems with Microsoft's recommended answer to the latest Boogey Man that comes out tomorrow. It hasn't made me any different, other than boredom and a bit cynical about marketing.
You are correct when it comes to a lot of the morally ambiguous garbage that tries to pass itseelf off as "entertainment." But when a call is being made (even just a "pretend" call) to stand up for what's right, to protect the innocent and to oppose evil - then I tend to be interested in it.
