What exactly about "vampires" could one say is "demonic?" Say you had to prove this and make a case for it. To what would you appeal? "Vampires" are make believe creatures.

The "principalities" you mention are described in the New Testament as real. Isn't it kind of like matching up "Casper the Friendly Ghost" (not real) with Joseph Stalin (very real and very evil)?
Not true at all. You need to realize that these movies and books are being written by unsaved people (in this case a Mormon) who is under the sway of the wicked one. These movies at the least desensitize us to evil and the occult.

Let me ask you something:

Do "vampires" honor God? Is it edifying? Does this book promote real Biblical holiness? Does this book/movie glorify Jesus? Does it give you greater concern for the lost? Does it make you want to flee from youthful lusts? Does it bring you closer to God?

If any of the answers to these questions is "no" the I for one will not partake of if. You must realize that anything you allow into your mind and spirit you are fellowshipping with spiritually. It is not "just" watching a movie for entertainment.

Ahhh..I bet your church has those new UPC songbooks where you only sing songs written by the oneness folks, huh?

"Tell Me the Story of Jesus" was written by a trinitarian. Don't sing it cuz they are probably singing about another Jesus. Steer clear!

I'm not in the UPC. Never have been, probably never will be. This is not a denominational issue.

But if he's a Mormon (she's?) shouldn't they be using different plot devices and characters? I mean, J. Smith told a very compelling story and all he had for inspiration was the lining of the hat he was pretending to "peer" in.

I dunno. If this is a Mormon plot it seems to be more along the lines of Melloway or whatever the "Whey-Milk" thing was that they tried to sell via multi-level marketing back in the 80's. The whole thing seems geared to make money taking advantage of a current popular fantasy craze.

But the "heroes" in the movies do good things and oppose evil. Personally I'd want my kids around that kind of brainwashing a lot more.

Dude, at my age "youthful lust" comes in pill form, so what do I know? But yes, stories that promote individual action to stand up against evil honor God.

Dunno, Bro. I've been "spiritually fellowshipping" all day with patching computer systems with Microsoft's recommended answer to the latest Boogey Man that comes out tomorrow. It hasn't made me any different, other than boredom and a bit cynical about marketing.

You are correct when it comes to a lot of the morally ambiguous garbage that tries to pass itseelf off as "entertainment." But when a call is being made (even just a "pretend" call) to stand up for what's right, to protect the innocent and to oppose evil - then I tend to be interested in it.

But yet you are a member here, reading this thread.

Can you answer the questions above in regard to this forum? Did you answer no to them?

In addition, does the reading of the Book of Solomon make you answer yes to any of the questions above?

The UPC isn't a denomination. Are you oneness? So are those in the UPC. The trinitarians who wrote most of the songs you sing definitely aren't.

Song of Solomon is God honoring and glorifying. It is Scripture. How this is an attempt to justify Twilight is beyond me. Song of Solomon is not occult inspired, it is Holy Ghost inspired.

The purpose of this forum is to accomplish the things listed above and they are effective in doing so. It just so happens at this time I am trying to deliver some brothers/sisters from being deceived. I do it in love.

Love y'all.

Re: Twilight movie/book....

I was under the impression that Twilight was a chick-flick for the young teen crowd, so never really paid attention to it.

Now I haven't been to a theater in a year and a half, but I will break my theater "fast" when Wolverine hits in a couple of months!

Re: Twilight movie/book....

I would never watch such evil.

I don't say that to be pompous.

I do not expect everyone else to live like me.

I just could not do it.
