Dan my man...I am concerned....not about you wearing shorts...about the blinding glare off those lilly white legs. Perhaps you should pass out sunshades to all that will be within your vicinity.

Well if that revival in TX that he is boasting about is at your church, please let me know when so i can come and heckle him from the back pew!

I'll start letting my tomatoes rot on Sunday so they will be good and ready when the meeting starts!

Plenty! And it can be done without sin... unless you think 'fun' automatically means 'sin'.

I've been on several and would do it again in a moment. In fact, this year we are doing a young married's trip on a cruise complete with their Pastor (yours truly), two Evangelist's and their wives and about 20 couples (so far).

By the way, that great icon of conservatism - Rev. L. E. Westburg - met his untimely death on a cruise if I have my facts right. Evidently there ARE some things to do on a cruise!

Sounds like moral relativism to me.

How can ball games be sinful and cruises that allow drinking and gambling be okay? How can swimming together be wrong and seeing half naked people all day on the cruise ship be okay? Seems to me the entire idea of a cruise is worldly amusement.

Not the ones that I've been on, PP. They do, in fact, have drinking like most restaurants. They do have gambling but you have to go to the casino to be around it. It's like a city on the sea and you can go and see whatever your convictions allow you to do... and avoid the rest. However, if your convictions lean more conservatively then you aren't jeopardized either... unless you're so weak spiritually that a passing bikini on it's way to the pool causes instant backsliding.

On all the cruises I've been on I don't guess that bikini's have been common attire. Most are covered with something until they get to the pools.

For Wholehearted:
I don't have a problem with CLEAN comedians or even the nightly karaoke shows. I find it rather funny to hear songs butchered beyond comprehension. The 'shows' are generally clean family type things.

There are shore excursions available but we find it more enjoyable to just browse around the towns and the shops... especially in Alaska (by FAR my favorite cruise).

If you would rather have the whole fishing thing? Bring along that cane pole and fling a line in on the back of the boat. You may not catch anything but the looks you get will be worth the cost of the trip!
