The Living Bible reads...

Because the Lord is...we could stop there and find strength!!

Just the fact that there is a God should send shouts of praise in our hearts. Where did He come from...how long has He been around...when did time begin?!

We don't have these answers, yet we can say with assurance and understanding we know He is real.

It's more than a good feeling...it's a knowing deep in our inner beings that God is alive and well, and He's alive and well in our hearts.

my Shepherd...that's a personal thing...He is my Shepherd.

Yes, He is the Good Shepherd to us all, but He is my Shepherd. He sees about me and knows when I am down and disheartened. He is aware of my concerns and thoughts.

I don't have to wonder if He is there...I know it.

I don't have to question if He cares...He proves it every day that I breath in and out.

He is my Shepherd.

I have everything I need! Every need He supplies...not one time, but every time.

Things may not be exactly as I would wish at the moment, and every desire may not be met, but every need He has already supplied.

He lets me rest in the meadow grass...He doesn't make me, but He lets me.

He lets me rest in Him, ever confident that there are no predators hiding behind a tree that He does not see. He is not unaware of the snake in the high grass, and is careful that I am protected from the evil one.

I trust the One who loves me most that His ever watchful eye is over me as I rest on Him.

and leads me beside the quiet streams. Once again, it is all about trust.

I trust that He will not lead me to a rushing river to be overpowered by the strong current. I feel comfort in the quiet stream.

I feel safe.

He gives me new strength. One song writer penned, "my strength from yesterday is gone..."

Often this is true...the blessing or touch we received Sunday or yesterday can be zapped by the cares of this life which come to us all. And so it is in those times that we rely on that strength that comes yet again.

God brings peace and tranquility in the midst of turmoil heartache. He lifts our burdened and troubled minds and hearts, and gives us the strength to stand against what the enemy may send.

He helps me do what honors him the most. Wow!! Doing that which honors Him the most...is that your prayer, too?!

Lord, help me to honor you with my life and words and thoughts and attitudes.

Honor is a word that tragically some know nothing about. They have lived such shabby lives and for so long, they simply do not know how anymore to live any other way.

But may the Lord help us to live honorably in His sight and before men. May the words from our mouth and the meditation of our heart be pleasing in His sight.

Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way.

He guides us and guards us through the last transition of time...the dark valley of death.

You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. The KJV states the Lord prepares a table...He sets the finest linen and china. The silver is polished and the crystal is glimmering. He lights the candle and invites us to sit...

The kicker is that He has placed the table on the frontlines.

We are in plain view of our enemies. They can see us seated at the table with the Master, communing in His presence. They recognize His love and favor and are not impressed. But...

You have welcomed me as your guest; blessings overflow! The Lord of glory has Himself seated us at the table of blessing. So regardless of who doesn't like it, and in spite of those who would want to upset the table and throw the manna to the ground, we are the invited guest of the Lord of hosts!!

Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards I will live with you forever in your home.

Unfailing kindness...He never gives up!!

Regardless of where we have been and who said what and who did this or that, God never gives up!!

His goodness and unfailing kindness will be with us forever.

We are safe...when the storms rise and the billows blow.

We are safe in His arms!!
