Our church helped one of our sisters go to nursing school and she through the church is able to help many people in our village and not only in our village get appointments and exams free...Anyone no matter what church they belong to we reach out through this to help others...
We are working on a program to raise funds to feed the hungry in the shanty towns...
There are many things we are involved in but don't know if that is what you are talking about...

I love foreign missions!! I will be making my second trip to Costa Rica this year, and hopefully my third trip to Kenya. We just returned from Hong Kong in November. I will make as many trips as I possibly can over the next few years; my heart is so burdened for foreign countries, especially Africa. I also handle all the missions funds from our church; I love helping missionaries around the world!
Locally, we support Mercy Ministries, Youth Town, and several other causes. We also are very involved in church planting.
I grew up as a missionary kid. Does that count? I love missionaries, even the useless ones.
Our church just gave a cash offering of $166,000 to build churches overseas. In the last 20 years they've given 2+ million bucks. Lots of our people go on missions trips all the time. Our church is so holy we can hardly stand it.
I'd like to take my son to Africa. But w/school I can't afford the time and money right now.

My husband was to Pakistan on a missions trip year before last...
Depends on your definition of Missions... Missions to me is reaching souls wherever you are.

We are also sending out national missionaries much cheaper than supporting Americans and their lavish (usually) lifestyle...the national can live about anywhere, eat anything and does not need a lot of things we Americans think we need.
We have several full time couples we are supporting.

Some give by going and some go by giving. I am the latter. I love missions. Foreign especially. I believe in home missions, but I feel it can be easier to focus on home missions cause it is easier in the sense that for FM causes you to leave the US. Some people will give themselves, but do not want to leave the country. I am not belittling HM at all. I give to it too. This may seem like a contradiction, but I believe it is almost tougher to plant a church here because of preconceived notions about a denomination or religion as a whole. We need both sides of the evangelism spectrum. I wish I could go, but at this time it is not my calling, but I will definately go by giving!

Missions is the responsibility of every Christian...where ever there is a lost soul there is need of someone to tell them of Jesus no matter where...
I admire those that are working in the states...I consider that a great challenge.
