letter from Pastor Hugo

Dearest Friends:
Malachi opens his prophecy with these words, “For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts” (Malachi 1:11).
Brazil is the largest country in South America and is best known for its contrasts. When my wife and I said we felt God called us to be missionaries here in our own country we really did not know all the sacrifice involved even though I lived all my childhood right next door to a missionary…only when we walked though the doors and accepted by faith the call of God we now know a little about the long journey that awaits us…
Tuesday was a bitter sweet day for my wife and me…Sweet because we are sold out to the cause of missions and I departed on a trip that will take me several thousand miles before returning home. Bittersweet because I left my wife sick…I offered to stay but she would have it no other way than for me to make the trip to encourage the work and help on several building programs. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me"
Right now I am in a little town in the city of Fronteiras and they desperately need a roof on their little church they are building. They are having services under a tree at the moment. I have never been to your country but have seen pictures of beautiful temples which you deserve to have. However I was wondering if you could find it in your heart to help with any amount of an offering for these your earth brothers that need your help?
Our work has always been a mission work in Brazil…from my youth we were taught that God supplies the needs of those who work in His harvest field with a sincere heart. There are many needs here that seem impossible to me but God is able to do the impossible.
When He says to do something, we need to do it without delay and without question. The desperate need of the lost is that the gospel reaches them before it is forever too late.
Is anybody going to be in heaven because of you?
Your gift to missions will not only bring live saving aid to those in darkness of idol worship but also help maintain lighthouses open for others to come to Him. Our commitment to you is that we will always preach the Gospel and encourage the Saints with the funding and prayer support you provide.
I think of the scripture “...The poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel…” Isa 29:19.
From the uttermost parts of the land of Brazil, my family sends its greetings to you along with thanks for your friendship, prayers and support. "This is a day of Good News!”Go into all the world and preach the gospel” is the command of our Lord.
"Ask of me and I will give the nations as an inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession." Psalms 2:8
"How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?" Romans 10:14
Will you help me take the gospel to Brazil?
Until All Have Heard:

Pastor Hugo Silverio

Re: letter from Pastor Hugo

Pastor Hugo works full time as a national missionary. We have several full time national missionaries in the work here in Brazil. Please pray for him and he works he oversees.
You may send to him through our home address or directly to him. I just didn´t have his address with me to put with the letter I translated for him.
