Prophetic utterance or wishful thinking?

Quote:
Scott, I think that the UPC will change and get rid of the standards as well as the three-step doctrine but it has not changed yet. The folks in the pews may be "past" all of this but the leadership of the organization has not.

What do you think? Is Deltaguitar a prophet? or a wishful thinker?

Ha ha! Hey, I am just agreeing with the Tulsa crowd. Once you start down the slippery slope it is very hard to stop.

I hope we are'nt talking ALL standards - like I think clothes are a good thing in general.

Also, while we should learn that the body of Christ is not confined to Oneness Pentecostals, I hope we never abandon baptism in Jesus Name, and Holy Spirit infilling.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

There is a difference in being relevant to the culture and being pressed into the culture's mold. The UPC must follow the leading of the Spirit in order to minister to this culture or it will find itself more and more marginalized.

Will the UPC have to change its name back to the PCI?

I agree.

I tend to think that the Oneness groups have a better understanding in the area of God's nature and correct baptism.

Let's just get away from perfomance based salvation. The performance comes because we love God not because we want to be saved.

Well, if it is prophesy, I consider it prophesy in the same line as the prophets of old who prophesied doom for those that turned their backs on God.

As one who is UPCI and who's family has been UPCI since its foundation, from a church that as produced a GS, a DS and several General Board members,

if the UPCI goes down that path, i will no longer be part of it, and I will certainly see it as apostate.

How is that for moderation?
