Ah, Rico, I think I would like to debate that first!

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter
The Debate Room is where controversial subjects are debated.
We created it in a different area to be away from the mainstream.
Those that want to debate those issues are welcome to go there.
Yes, but unless someone knows there even is a debate room the debate room doesn't get much traffic. I didn't know there was a debate room until a few days ago and I have been a member of AFF since it was started. I have always immediately clicked the Fellowship Hall when I log on to the site. My guess is that many other posters, visitors, and would-be members do the same thing. If it were a sub-forum of the Fellowship Hall, like The Tab, The Newsroom, and these other sub-forums, it would more than likely get more traffic and some actual debating going on. I've been perusing that area today and there are some good topics in it. Topics I am sure more of us would find interesting. I've pretty much talked about my wife, politics, cars running on water, etc., until I am blue in the face. I want meat!!!
So are doctrinal topics being discouraged from the Fellowship hall? Are there people who start a subject JUST SO they can debate someone else? Seems to be like a sure way to keep a topic quiet is to take it from the Fellowship hall.
If most posters are like me, this is how it works.
We don't come on AFF to debate, but if there is a hot one in the Fellowship Hall then we (against our better judgement at times) get sucked into it. It keeps the FH exciting and debates/discussions going longer I think... more people get involved because of where the thread is located.
I steer clear of the debate room because I dislike debating things I feel strongly about, I hate to cast my pearls out there... ahem... but if it's staring me in the face in the FH, sometimes I can't resist.

This is the misconception, in my opinion, about the Debate Room. There's much more bickering going on in the Fellowship Hall than I've seen in the Debate Room. I will admit to not having read all the threads there, but, so far, I haven't seen anything like the free for alls I've seen in the Fellowship Hall. LOL
